Ruby’s Inn: Over 100 years of family fun

In the wake of the new year, we’re looking back into Ruby’s past and highlighting some of its vast and varied history of family fun.

In 1916, Reuben C. Syrett relocated his family to the untamed wilderness of Southern Utah, where he established a ranch near the stunning Bryce Canyon. Not only did the family eagerly share the canyon’s beauty with others, but they also assumed the role of welcoming its visitors. By 1919, they had secured state approval to construct a lodge named “Tourist Rest,” perched near the canyon’s edge.

In 1923, with the establishment of Bryce Canyon as a National Monument, Ruby relocated his “Tourist Rest” to his ranch’s location, renaming it Ruby’s Inn. The hotel’s reputation grew as the National Monument grew into a National Park, propelling Ruby’s Inn into a hotel known nationwide.

Now, Ruby’s Inn is still the adventure capital of the West and the best place for families to make lasting memories! This year, take a trip off the beaten path and explore Bryce Canyon National Park at Ruby’s Inn.
