Planning a Bryce Canyon Family Reunion – How to Reserve Your Room Block at Ruby’s Inn

Your Guide to Reserving Room Blocks at Ruby’s Inn for Your Next Family Reunion

Planning a family reunion or a large group getaway to Bryce Canyon National Park is an incredible way to make memories. However, the logistics of coordinating lodging for 20, 50, or even 100 people can feel like a trek of its own.

At Ruby’s Inn, we’ve been the “Home Base” for Bryce Canyon adventures for over a century. We specialize in making group hotel booking simple so you can focus on the views, not logistics.

Here is everything you need to know about securing a hotel room block, getting the best group hotel rates, and keeping your family close together.

Why Book a Room Block at Ruby’s Inn?

Booking a room block for a group offers several benefits:

Discounted Rates: We offer specialized group hotel rates for larger groups that are typically lower than standard booking prices.

For the best possible value, consider hosting your reunion during the “off-season” (November through March), when rates are best and the park the quietest.

If your group is smaller than 10 rooms, be sure to check out our Hot Deals page for specials, often offering 20% off for stays of two nights or more.

Guaranteed Proximity: We work to keep your rooms in the same wing so there is no journey across the property just to say “good morning.”

Easier Coordination: With a dedicated group code, your family members can call and book their own rooms into the block, taking the financial pressure off the organizer.

How to Block Hotel Rooms

Estimate Your Numbers

Before you call, have a general idea of how many rooms you need.

Choose Your Home Base

Ruby’s Inn is a large property. To keep your group close, consider these locations:

  • The Main Lodge: Perfect for families who want to be steps away from the General Store, the Canyon Diner, and the indoor pool.
  • Lakeview Lodge: A bit more secluded and scenic, great for groups who want a quieter atmosphere.
  • Ponderosa & Elk Wings: Ideal for large blocks where you want rooms facing each other or clustered around a specific hallway.

Explore Our Sister Properties

If you are looking for even more variety in pricing or amenities, consider our sister properties located right next door:

The Grand Hotel: A great option for families who prefer a more modern hotel layout. The Grand features an enclosed courtyard and includes a full hot breakfast with your stay, making it a convenient “all-in-one” choice for groups.

Bryce View Lodge: Perched on the edge of a ponderosa pine forest, this is an excellent budget-friendly choice. It is also a pet-friendly favorite, offering easy access to the shuttle and all the amenities of the main Ruby’s Inn property.

Contact Our Group Coordinator

Unlike a single room booking, group blocks require a personal touch. You’ll work directly with our Group Coordinator to create a plan that fits your family’s needs.

Custom Group Code

Once your family’s room block is established, we’ll provide you with a unique Group Code. This code is the key to keeping everyone together!

Your family members can simply call us, mention the code, and book their specific room using their own payment information. This allows everyone to choose the room type that fits them best while staying within the family block.

Plan Ahead for the Cutoff Date: To ensure every family member gets the group rate and a guaranteed spot, please make sure everyone calls in before your group’s Cutoff Date. On this date, any unclaimed rooms are released back to the general public.

Prefer the Great Outdoors?

Campsites, Cabins, & More
One of the best things about Ruby’s Inn is our “Hybrid Reunion” capability. If half the family wants a luxury king suite and the other half wants to sleep under the stars, you can still stay together!

Just across the way Ruby’s Inn RV Park & Campground offers:

  • Full Hook-up RV Sites
  • Spacious Tent Sites
  • Rustic Log Cabins
  • Authentic Tipis

We can often coordinate your lodge room block and your campground sites simultaneously to ensure the whole group is within walking distance.

On-Site Activities

One of the best parts of hosting your reunion at Ruby’s Inn is that you never have to leave the property to find adventure. Whether your family wants high-energy thrills or a relaxing afternoon, we have it all:

  • Ebenezer’s Barn & Grill: A true highlight for any reunion! Enjoy dinner and a live country music show—it’s the perfect venue for a large group to eat and laugh together.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book?
For summer reunions (May through September), we recommend booking your block 6 to 12 months in advance to ensure the best variety of room types. However, regardless of your timeline, please give us a call! Between our Main Lodge, our two sister properties—The Grand Hotel and Bryce View Lodge—and our full-scale RV Park & Campground, we have over 700 lodging units. We will always do our best to find a way to accommodate your family.

Are there meeting spaces for group meals?
Yes! We have several conference rooms, outdoor venues, and banquet halls available for rent if you want to host a private family dinner, game night, or talent show. To see the different layouts, capacities, and catering options available to your group, be sure to check out our Meeting and Event Spaces Guide. Our team can help you transform these spaces into the perfect gathering spot for your family.

Is there a deposit required?
Deposit requirements vary based on the season and the number of rooms. Our Group Coordinator will walk you through the specifics during your quote.

Is there a shuttle to the park?
Yes! The Bryce Canyon Shuttle picks up right at Ruby’s Inn, making it easy for the whole group to head into the park without worrying about parking multiple cars.

Where is the best place to get coffee in the morning?
Skip the lobby pods and head to the Tourist Rest Coffee Shop right on-site. It’s the perfect morning meetup spot for the family to grab lattes, cold brews with cold foam, or specialty teas before heading into the park.

Are there kitchens in the rooms to prepare family meals? While our lodge rooms do not feature full kitchens, they do come equipped with a microwave and refrigerator—perfect for storing snacks, drinks, and leftovers. If your family loves the traditional “cookout” experience, our RV Park and Campground sites include picnic tables and fire rings for outdoor cooking. For groups looking for a completely hands-off dining experience, we also offer professional on-site catering for private family banquets.

How do we handle meals for a large group?  This is where Ruby’s Inn truly shines for reunions! You have several stress-free options:

  • The Cowboy’s Buffet & Steak Room: Ideal for large groups because the buffet format means no waiting for individual orders. Everyone can eat what they like, when they like.
  • On-Site Catering: For a more private experience, you can book one of our conference rooms and have our team cater a private banquet just for your family. From hearty Western-style cookouts to elegant sit-down dinners, you can view our full catering menu to start planning your perfect family meal.
  • The Canyon Diner: Great for a quick, casual lunch or grabbing a pile of pizzas to take back to the pool area. It is also the go-to spot for “grab and go” items—like sandwiches and snacks—that are easy to pack in a backpack for your family’s hikes in Bryce Canyon.
  • Outdoor Gathering Areas: We have large grassy lawns and shaded areas under the Ponderosa pines with picnic tables—ideal for a casual family lunch.

Where can we buy groceries?
No need to pack a week’s worth of food in your car! The Ruby’s Inn General Store is one of the largest in the region. We stock fresh produce, meats, snacks, and any supplies you might need for a picnic in the park.
